At its northern end, La Mer by Meraas opened in October 2017 with 2.5 kilometres of sandy beaches, and to the south the Burj Al Arab stands on a man-made island 280 metres offshore.<\/p><dl district.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"rwh-ap-pt\"><h3>Ownership<\/h3><p>Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim and La Mer are not named in Regulation No. 3 of 2006, which lists Dubai\u2019s designated areas by plot, so confirm the title of the specific plot or unit with the Dubai Land Department.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"rwh-ap-pt\"><h3>Trade-offs<\/h3><p>921 homes were sold in the last 12 months, 80 of them for AED 36.7 million (USD 10 million) or more, and 59.8% of sales were off-plan. Older villas vary widely in age and condition, so each property needs its own survey.
